Brands across automobiles, smartphones, jewellery, banking, financial services and insurance, telecom, e-commerce, OTT platforms and real estate are driving recovery, especially in smaller markets after the threat of Covid 19 second wave. Out-of-home (OOH) media took a hit during the pandemic-induced lockdown with virtually no billings during the April- June quarter, has started recovering on a month-on-month basis with festive spends touching 70-80% of levels seen last year September and October, said advertising industry executives.

With travel restrictions being lifted, traffic within cities picked pace and inter- state travel also resumed. Many brands have resumed their advertising and promotional activities and are running outdoor campaigns to tap on the festive season sales. Higher media occupancy in smaller markets as compared to metros is seen.
